W00t, it’s Friday

Wrapping up a wonderful week that started with last Friday night.  As noted, Chris went to Motocross with Bob and I had girls’ night with Tammy and Katy.  Saturday we trekked out to Boston to scamp up and down Newbury St., then celebrate Tasha‘s birthday with lots of friends.  That was a great time.  Sunday we had Mom and Yoda, Rie and Dave and Missy over for a visit and some food, our first group cookout of the season.
Monday night I baked myself a batch of fat free brownies, but by the time they came out of the oven I was so pooped that I had to go directly to bed without even sampling- can you believe it?
Mark, our contractor, was here for most of the week working on our kitchen.  He installed the doors to the basement and the bathroom, and trimmed out doorways to the living and dining rooms, trimmed out our three windows, installed base boards, and hung my pot rack from the ceiling.
Wednesday night Sarah stopped over for a quick cup of tea on her way to clinic.  After she left I made a starter for spent grain bread.  I actually baked the bread on Wednesday night.  It smelled so heavenly throughout the whole house, both when I went to bed and when I woke up.  Again, it was finished so late that I couldn’t taste it until Thursday ’cause with bread you get the fullest flavor after about an hour of cooling and I would never make it to 10:00 in a conscious state (with getting up at 4:15 and all).
Tomorrow is the first Farmer’s Market of the season (at least in my neck of the woods).  I’ll be celebrating with Mom, Rie, and Sarah by skipping around the town green in Amherst, juggling fresh veggies.  After that Chris and I will be working on some projects inside the house for the remainder of the day.  We have some stuff that needs to get done, and soon.
Sunday is Kyra‘s birthday party.  I can’t wait.  All of our nieces are cute, but this one’s still young enough to be pinchable!

  1. Sounds like you’re keeping busy. And it sounds like your house is coming along nicely.
