Aah vacation

It feels so good to know that for the next 10 days I don’t have to fire up the old laptop, or set the alarm for the gym, plan meals, or get dressed for the office.  No conference calls to host, meeting minutes to write, nada.
I actually woke up at 4:00 this morning and was so relaxed that I was able to stay in bed until 6:30, just drifting in and out.  This has got to be the healthiest way to live.  Wake up without worries or deadlines and just go about your business.  Wow, I can’t wait to retire (in about 40 years).
We went to the Farmer’s Market this morning, Mom, Rie and I.  We ran into an old friend, Heath, with whom we chatted for a bit.  Then we went down to make our purchases.  I didn’t buy too much today since we have such a bounty from our own garden.  Our neighbor Mary had passed 6 ear of corn over the fence to us on Thursday night, plus we’ve got about 3 summer squash readying themselves for our consumption daily.  Today I also harvested some money-maker and some plum tomatoes, small but tasty.  Peppers are ready too (just green ones this year).  I also picked a butternut squash that was getting a little big for its britches.  I set it out in the sun to finish turning from green to tan.  Another acorn squash was ready too.  I’m actually starving right now, but because there are so many things to choose from I’m having a hard time deciding what to eat.
