Getting better

I woke up at about 5:00 this morning with a raging migraine.  I walked around gathering up the appropriate pills, Imitrex to stop the migraine from progressing, Darvocet to numb the pain, took them and went back to bed.  When I woke up again at 7:00 I felt better, but couldn’t be sure if that was just the drugs still working so I got up and did as much as I could before they wore off.
I baked an Irish soda bread.  Had some tea and a piece of that for breakfast.  Did some laundry.  Washed some dishes.  Took down everything from the hutch shelves in the dining room, cleaned the many pieces, washed the shelves, and laid down new liner, then replaced everything.  By the time this was all done, it was past noon and I realized that I was still pain free.  That meant that I could leave the house.
I showered then dressed and Chris and I measured the front door opening as well as the last window in our kitchen that needs replacing.  We journeyed on down to the Home Depot and ordered a beautiful full lite door with Cape Cod glass design.  The window we ordered the same as all the others in the house.  We grabbed some string that we use every other week for tying up the recyclable cardboard, and some twine that I use for gifts, and put the last of our gift cards to good use.
Next we went to Costco.  I had to return a pair of horrid looking jeans that I had picked up last week, plus we needed to have our pictures taken and put on our new cards.  We grabbed a large corned beef for next weekend, a rack of lamb, some eggs, and a sack of acidic fertilizer for our blueberry bushes and got the hell out of Dodge.
Now I’m feeling like maybe I want to bake some Rockie cookies.  And maybe a cake, although I have no reason to.  Anybody need a cake?
