I really enjoy going to the farmers’ market. The one in Amherst is held on Saturday mornings and they attract not only conventional farmers, but local bakers, organic farmers, and dairies. Below are some of my purchases of the day.
Summer squash, zucchini, golden zucchini, and a good old cuke
Fresh garlic
Baby beets with greens
French breakfast radishes
Mom and Sarah came over at about 7:30 and we headed up to the town green. Once we had made all of our purchases we headed over to ‘Bucks for various iced coffee beverages, then on to Whole Foods to finish off our grocery shopping for the week. What a nice way to kick off the weekend!

July 8, 2007 at 7:08 pmI really like the farmer’s market. My garlic was quite yummy tonight – I sauteed it with baby spinach.
The summer squash was the best.
It WAS a nice way to kick off the weekend.

July 9, 2007 at 12:50 pmI love summertime for the massive amounts of fresh veggies and fruits. Every year I dread winter more and more simply due to the lack of fresh foods.
A guy at work gave me some literature on local markets and farmers. I’ll have to check it out before it’s too late.

July 11, 2007 at 7:31 amy’all are sick. how’d you figure me so quick?
i promise more kitch pics as soon as it starts to look a little different. i believe that we’ve finally put up the last of the mud so now it requires a final sanding. if the air gets a little more breathable, maybe we’ll finish that this week. got the price for the floor too, just need to make a final decision on that and put the order in.
we’re getting there, slowly….
